What We Do
The Karma Tutors Impact Fund is a 501(c)(3) sister program to Karma Tutors LLC, which provides high-quality tutoring to middle- and high-school students in the greater Telluride area. KTIF's primary objective is to provide the same academic advantage afforded by those individualized tutoring services to students who otherwise would not have the financial means to access it and whose academic success would contribute to a healthier, more diverse future. To achieve this, KTIF provides quality, one-on-one tutoring to students based on financial need, risk factors, and commitment to their studies. Through our work, we ensure the academic "edge" that so often makes the difference in college acceptance is shared.

commitment to diversity
We believe that all students, regardless of background or native language, deserve support in their educations. And we know that education is the difference-maker in a child's outcomes. The Karma Tutors Impact Fund provides free support to low-income students in the greater Telluride area with the goal of making academic success accessible to all.
We recognize that language barriers present real walls when it comes to access. Our community is home to many nonnative English-speaking families whose students benefit from our services and use that experience to accomplish great things. We value their perspectives and their vast potential, and we are committed to seeing them find success in their studies. In our first four years of providing free academic support, we choose to focus our services on students from nonnative English-speaking families in our area. Our choice to prioritize meeting the needs of these families recognizes two things: first, that we cannot yet serve all students, and second, that not all students have equal representation in their communities.
Our goal is not simply to provide educational support for all students; it is also to invest in a future generation where the backgrounds and spoken languages of power holders are a fair reflection of those of the people they represent. We believe that diversity in the middle class is necessary to achieve this goal, and we believe that the secret to social mobility in this country lies in education.
If we achieve our goal of creating a robust program that meets the needs of this student body, then we would love nothing more than to celebrate by expanding our program. Help us get there!

What success looks like to us
- Our students consistently achieve the academic goals they outline with their teachers
- We raise the college acceptance and attendance rates for THS graduates from low-income, latino families
- We can expand beyond the town of Telluride to nearby regions and serve all low-income families in the area
- We cultivate a passion for service and community in all those who work and volunteer for us
- Other organizations see our example and mimic it in their own communities
