Karma Culture
of inclusion and respectful dialog; our efforts to smooth access to informational materials and events; our partnership with Collaborative Action for Immigrants (CAFI) and other local programs pursuing equity; and our program mission of creating a just future by pairing underfunded students with high-caliber, professional tutors. We expect our tutors to embrace practices that promote the principles of JEDI, both in their work and in their interactions with other members of the KTIF team.
Lastly, we believe in the magic of people. We are interested in hiring YOU — not a textbook, not a chatbot. Students are not inspired by machines; your experience, education, and training are important, but don't forget to bring your interests, personality, and voice. Your uniqueness will be celebrated here. We ask that you share it, and we demand that you respect it in others.
The Karma Tutors Impact Fund does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, age, sex, gender expression, marital status, military status, or disability, and we take this commitment very seriously in our work with students. Tutors must act as allies to their students and create a nurturing learning environment that is safe and inclusive for all.
We are committed to practices that champion Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI). Our goal is not simply to provide support for all students, but to invest in a future generation where the backgrounds and spoken languages of power holders are a fair reflection of the people they represent. Furthermore, we aim to provide avenues for all members of our community, regardless of language or income, to have meaningful participation in our program. We demonstrate our commitment to JEDI in our bilingual board of directors; our bilingual staff and tutors; our policies
